On Friday, we started the weekend of family birthday fun as my brother, two sisters, and mom all arrived in town. We really enjoyed a day of watching the World Cup, playing with Aaron, taking a walk, eating home made pizza, and decorating for Saturday's party. And staying up WAY too late! But my siblings and I haven't done that in a while, so it was worth it. :)
Saturday morning, we started getting the food ready, watched more soccer, and once my dad arrived, and everything was ready, we ate lunch and visited before the USA game (yes, the World Cup was very prominent at this birthday party! Aaron could have cared less. :) ). We really enjoyed visiting together, just Kevin's family and my family. It was a nice way for Aaron to feel very loved and celebrated! It will be a bit different next year when he has a little brother or sister to compete with for all the attention.
Everyone stayed all day Saturday, then my dad had to leave that night to head back to West Virginia, Jordan and Hannah headed back on Sunday, Rachel left Monday and my mom got to stay through the next weekend. On Saturday night, just before my dad left, we surprised Rachel with a little birthday celebration just for her, as her birthday is July 1st and we knew we wouldn't all be together again for her special day. She seemed to enjoy herself. :)
Fun family memories!
