On Wednesday, it was Kevin's dad's birthday (I call him Pop and Aaron calls him "Pop-Pop" but it's supposed to be Grampa). So, that morning, he, Jerri (Kevin's mom), Aaron and I went to breakfast together at the mall and then did some shopping followed by playing at the inside play area. Aaron had a BLAST. Then, we went out for dinner that night to Red Hot and Blue, one of Pop's favorite spots. We followed up with some yummy cake that Jerri and Andrew (Kevin's brother) collaborated on. Aaron didn't get cake that night but did enjoy the candles, singing and especially the blow-horn thingies (what is the official name?).
The next day, we drove out to Leesburg (yes, lots of driving this week!) to visit another of my high school friends, Becky, and her new little baby boy, Paul. He is just 9 weeks old, and I was melting as I held him on my shoulder and he made those adorable little baby grunting and rooting noises. I got a renewed sense of excitement over having a newborn again in 4 months! Aaron was definitely intrigued with Paul, especially when he took his nap in the pac n play downstairs (Aaron wanted to get in with him I think). But when I held Paul, Aaron wasn't nearly as jealous as I thought he would be.
It is also such a treasure to me to spend time with my dearest high school friends, and now to see them as Mommies is just priceless! How fun to be raising boys together. :)
