Our little boy

He really is that, a little boy. Not a baby anymore. He has started mimicking our words. It started the other night with repeating back to Kevin "ni-night" In the days to follow, he's been repeating more with more clarity. He has fun names for things and people. We've started to make friends with other kids in the neighborhood, all older than him, and he LOVES going to see them, esp. Nora, a little girl around the corner. He can see her house from our driveway and sideyard, so anytime we go outside, if he gets away from me, he starts running towards her house. He gets so upset when we can't go over, which is more often than not b/c she's older (she's 10) and has a much different schedule (Kevin jokes that Aaron's already falling for older women). It's very cute to see how much he looks up to her and follows her around.

He has started to recognize letters on the frig magnets, esp. the "A." He can pick it out for you, and will say "A" when you ask what letter it is. He also found an "A" on a chip bag. I'm so surprised and proud of him!

We've officially retired our cloth diapers. They were just leaking too much, now that Aaron is older and wets a lot more (he drinks TONS of water, which is great but lots of wet pants during the day). I'm keeping them in case the next baby can use them at some point, but for now, we're contributing to the landfills and spending more money than I want to (SIGH). I'm currently looking into which generic diapers have good reputations (so far Parent's Choice from Wal-mart and Up and Up by Target are the top in terms of lowest cost with highest quality). Costco brand leaks a lot, Pampers are great for overnights, and Huggies are good daily use. We'll try Wal mart or Target brands next, then maybe Luvs.

I registered for the baby at Babies R Us last week. I feel like I'm supposed to have everything by # 2, but honestly, there were several things we didn't get with Aaron that I'd REALLY like to have with the next one. Not to mention needing a double stroller. Then today, I registered for Aaron at Toys R Us...it's called a Wish List and is namely for birthdays. It just helped me to narrow down things I'd like to get for him, and this way, if family asks "what does Aaron want for his birthday?" there is a list ready with a variety of things. Also, the registries stay active for 6 months after the birth/birthday, so it can span through Christmas too. Even if we don't get anything, at least it was fun. :)
