A Very Special Birthday

Mary turned 33 on January 10th. Kevin thinks it's funny, as always, that he's still younger for 21 days. :) Just wait, old man! Anyway, we had a really fun weekend, and on my actual birthday, we went to dinner and a movie and got to spend time talking and catching up. Very needed. Then the next day, Kevin's mom took me out to the mall to pick out some birthday gifts (I really wanted some more winter tops/sweaters) and then Kevin's dad picked up my favorite Chinese food on the way home, and then we had cake and opened presents.

The MOST special part of my birthday was what we found out on my birthday. We are pregnant again! :) The baby should be arriving around mid-September. I was pretty sure for almost a week that I was, but took the test on my birthday to be sure. Then, we told Kevin's parents and brother Andrew the next night after cake and presents, and then I called my family over the next few days. As of now, we're just keeping it to immediate family (thus this blog post will stay a "draft" for a while longer).

On Jan. 14th, Mary went to the doctor for a pregnancy verification, so I can apply for a state insurance program for pregnant moms, and the results came back on the 18th that I am pregnant for sure and all my lab results look healthy. They said I can schedule a sonogram for 2 weeks from now. That will put me at the 8 week mark. Have to wait and see what happens with the insurance program first. Dr. Fisk also took time to go over my first labor and delivery a bit, explaining more about my uterus shape and said it actually likely had very little to do with the c-section, that it was due mostly to stubborn little Aaron being sunny side up and not turning! Said it was just a matter of positioning and timing. He said I can probably be a VBAC candidate but said it's more complex than I probably realize, and they will go over much more with me as time goes on.

To my second little one, we are so very excited you are being formed in my womb! We cannot wait to meet you! Your mommy has been very tired, esp. chasing after your older brother Aaron all day long. :) I will do my best to journal/blog about my pregnancy with YOU as much as I did with your brother, but I just may run out of time, so I'll aim for the major things! We pray every day for your safety and healthy growth.
