Pimp My Crib

Well, who said you can't fit a regular-sized baby crib in the same bedroom with a queen bed, desk, dresser, bookshelf, filing cabinet, two nightstands, and several other miscellaneous structures? We had a decision to make when Aaron was clearly outgrowing his Pac-N-Play basinnette topper (note: if you exceed the weight limit, the mattress/base DOES bow/warp). Do we have him sleep in the bottom of the pac-n-play, as he does when we travel, OR should we try the crib? The idea of bending over into the PnP every time we needed to pick him up, sooth him, etc, was not a fun thought in my mind. Not to mention, there goes any storage underneath. SOOO, we went out on a limb, got the crib from storage and put it together! I must say, even though it wasn't nearly the same as getting to put together a REAL nursery for Aaron, being able to set up his crib with the matching crib set was SO fun for me. :) When I go to get him out of his bed or even when I walk into our room, I just get this little cozy feeling of "aww, look, a baby lives here!" Just wasn't quite the same with the PnP, though it was moreso with the smaller white basinnette before it. Hard to believe in 9 months we've had a regular basinette, Pac-N-Play with Basinette topper, and now a crib in our room! Kinda' crazy! We did have to put up mesh netting around the sides of the crib b/c little Mr. Curious was already trying to take items off my nightstand and grab and pinch the blinds on the window! That's what happens in tight spaces. :) The netting seems to be doing the trick! We're thankful Aaron is getting a chance to get used to his crib so when we eventually move to our own place, that will be one less change for him (having his own room will be a huge adjustment in itself, for all of us!).
