It's amazing that you carry a baby in your belly for 9 months (really, more like 10 from conception to birth, despite popular belief) and it seems to go by so slowly in some ways, then you blink your eyes and your newborn is now 9 months! Several notes about where Aaron is here in this 9th month (going on 10 months now): His top left tooth is breaking threw, finally! I feel like I'm drugging him b/c I give him Tylenol or Motrin almost every night so he'll get some sleep and not wake up crying in the night...the doctor says it's ok though, so I feel better. He's not crawling yet, but does what many refer to as the "commando crawl" where he scoots across the floor or in circles (his favorite) using his arms and belly, but not really using his knees much. :) He is trying to pull himself up but can't quite figure it out. When we hold his hands, he can stand for a long time on his legs, he's very strong. He even "walks" across the floor with us holding his arms. He may be one that walks before he crawls, who knows!
At his 9 mo check up on 3/17, he weighed 20.25 lbs., measured 28 inches tall and head circumf was 14 cm. He's pretty much around the middle as far as the growth chart goes. He still smiles almost all the time, and has such a good sense of humor, the nurse had him laughing again 30 seconds after his shot. He only got one, but he KNEW it was coming, I couldn't believe it! Poor little guy, he cried quite a bit, but it didn't last too long. He's been doing great with his baby food. I'm making his food, if I haven't mentioned that in retro posts, so that is both fun and time consuming. I did get a jar of food from a friend that had chicken, and as his doctor said he can start having meat, we tried it tonight. He seemed to like it, though it's so pureed it's hard to even decipher it being different from the soupy sweet potatoes it was mixed with. I"m not sure how to home-make meats for babies, I have to look that one up. Oh yes, and Aaron really enjoys his books. Not me reading them to him, but pulling them out of their neat stack in his "toy corner" in the living room one by one, and chewing on them and throwing them aside. It's rather funny. He does seem to pause and look at them from time to time, which is a good sign. I found a great deal on a jogging stroller on Craigs list and Nanna and Grampa Jeanes bought it for Aaron for his birthday (early obviously). Upon recommendation from a friend, we got a double with the reasoning that, Lord willing, we'll have anohter one, at which point we need a double and then you're back at square one, having a single you don't need and needing to buy a new one. So, for now we can put bags or toys in the seat next to him and we're ready for # 2 when it's time! (not yet, don't worry!). I'll try to get a photo soon of Aaron in the jogger.
