Our little Gimpy

Never a dull moment around here. Last Sunday, March 6th, Aaron fell while running across the room at church, and broke his leg. It's a "toddler fracture" which the orthopedist said is quite normal for a child Aaron's age to have, but it doesn't quite take away the seriousness of the situation for me! But I'm getting used to it, by God's grace. Aaron's in a full-leg cast for 4 weeks, and he cannot walk on it nor get it wet. We'll be using a Dry Pro cast protector for baths, and praying we maybe only have to have it changed once (we're trying to be realistic).

We've been SO encouraged and overwhelmed with all the prayers, thoughts, and even financial support that has come forth from friends, family, and our church family during this time. Aaron is doing very well overall, finding ways to adjust and compensate, though he is greatly struggling with having patience and being obedient (which is pretty much normal anyway!) but it's a little harder for him to get a grip on both right now. We plan to put a pause on potty training for these four weeks, but to try transitioning him into a toddler bed while he's more immobile. :) Pray for us!

  1. I am so sorry that Aaron is hurt but what an awesome idea to switch him into a bed right now. Hopefully it will be an easy transition for all of you! Praying for you over these next few weeks!
